Tesseract is a student-powered community of innovators from New York City expanding access to STEM knowledge for other students grades 5-8. We offer both free tutoring in Computer Science & Robotics and help with building your ideas through project mentorship solving real-world problems.

Our philosophy

We think students learn the most when they are building something they actually care about and enjoy. As students, we've experienced this ourselves in our own learning. However, we understand that everyone comes in with varying levels of experiences. At Tesseract, we offer both the fundamentals to less experienced students, and guidance on building their ideas to students.

We connect young learners, creators, mentors, schools, and nonprofit partners through project-based learning, mentorship, and real-world challenges.

Studying is overrated
Every learner leaves with something that they can put on their portfolio: a robot, an app, a dataset, a demo they can show and publish.

Tesseract is fully student-powered, so our mentors know what it's like to explore unfamiliar terrain for the first time.
Free, forever
No fees and no prerequisites required. Tesseract workshops are hosted at partner sites and libraries around the city.
